Mae
Preschool Manager

Kia ora! My name is Mae.

I am excited to introduce myself as the new Manager of Tole Park Community Preschool.

My journey in early childhood education began in 2000 as a nanny before I completed my Bachelor of Education. Over the years, I have worked in various roles, including teacher, team leader, second in charge, and centre manager. I have been a part of this community since 2019 where I led and managed the Auckland Girls’ Grammar School childcare for five years.

In 2023, I completed my Master of Education, further strengthening my knowledge and expertise in the field.

The most important aspect of my leadership is building strong, trusting relationships. I believe that tamariki thrive in environments where they feel a true sense of belonging, and I am committed to creating a warm, nurturing space where tamariki, whānau, and Kaiako feel valued, respected, and heard.

I look forward to getting to know you all and working together to nurture your child’s learning and development. My door is always open, and I welcome any opportunity to connect with our preschool community.

Maryanne
Kaiako

Kia ora! My name is Maryanne.

I completed my Bachelor of Teaching in Early Childhood Education in 2014 and spent 10 years teaching at Auckland Girls’ Grammar School Childcare. During 2024/2025, I taught as a relieving kaiako (teacher), which has been an incredibly rewarding experience. It has allowed me to work across a range of centres, learn from different philosophies, and collaborate with many diverse and inspiring teaching teams.

I am passionate about supporting the holistic development of Tamariki, nurturing their self-confidence and fostering a sense of curiosity about the world around them. I view education as a lifelong journey and am committed to continually reflecting on and evolving my teaching practice to provide the best possible outcomes for the children in my care.

I feel truly privileged to play a role in the growth and development of young minds, supporting tamariki to become confident, capable and connected individuals. I am excited to build meaningful relationships with tamariki (children), kaiako (teachers) and whānau (family) and to be part of  Tole Park Community Preschool.

Kia ora, Konnichiwa!
My name is Ayako, and I am an unregistered teacher at Tole Park Community Preschool. I completed a Diploma in Early Childhood Education in 2015 and then worked at Auckland Girls’ Grammar School for nine years. During 2024/2025, I have worked at various centres as a relief teacher. This has given me various opportunities to learn about different philosophies, approaches to supporting children’s learning, and many brilliant ideas to enhance children’s curiosity. I love witnessing children’s growth as they overcome challenges and develop new skills. Supporting their development is not only rewarding but also an opportunity for me to continue growing as an educator. I also enjoy playing the ukulele to accompany children’s singing and dancing. I look forward to getting to know you and working with you to support your children’s learning and development.
