We honour the individuality of every child, creating an inclusive environment where tamariki, parents, whānau, and Kaiako experience a strong sense of belonging and connection. Our preschool celebrates the richness of diverse backgrounds and embraces the cultures of all our tamariki and whānau. Te reo Māori (Māori language) and Tikanga Māori (Māori customs and beliefs) are promoted and protected. We are committed to nurturing a holistic approach to well-being through our ‘Tole Tribe Wellness,’ programme, promoting health, mindfulness, and wellbeing.

Embedded in Play-Based Learning
Play is at the heart of everything we do. We believe children learn best through hands-on experiences that develop language skills, social competence, and motor skills as well as laying a strong foundation in early literacy and numeracy. We provide a balance of structured and unstructured play and encourage tamariki to lead their own learning while being supported by their Kaiako. In our calm and engaging environment, we foster creativity, and curiosity, setting the foundation for a lifelong love of learning.

Grounded in Respectful Relationships
Our tamariki, parents, whānau, and Kaiako are central to our learning and teaching environment and are deeply valued and respected. We nurture trusting, caring and positive connections, fostering an environment where tamariki feel safe and empowered to express themselves and grow as caring and kind individuals within their community. Through teamwork, inclusion, and emotional awareness, we support tamariki in developing social competence skills, building confidence, resilience, and kindness to navigate the world.

Fostering Competent Lifelong Learners
We believe every child is a capable and competent lifelong learner. We encourage tamariki to take ownership of their learning, make decisions, and develop problem-solving skills in a safe and supportive environment. We honour each child’s unique strengths and interests, and we help them grow into confident, socially competent, and self-assured individuals, deeply connected to their community and ready to take on their next steps in life.
